Capacity Building Initiatives

RCRC envisions building a strong network by investing in people and empowering organizations. It works towards  equipping its members, mostly small and medium-sized organizations, with the additional skills to strengthen themselves through training and capacity building. Some of the focus areas for capacity building have been done around:

Governance and Compliance

  • Building strong boards: composition, democratic practices, policies, and annual general meetings (AGM).
  • Legal and financial compliance: trust registration, tax registrations (12A, 80G), foreign funding regulations (FCRA), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), basic bookkeeping, income tax, GST, and audits.

Organizational Management and Development

  • Strategic planning for long-term success.
  • Developing second-line leadership to ensure continuity.
  • Mastering proposal writing for effective fundraising.
  • Strategic communication for impactful messaging.
  • Monitoring and evaluation techniques to measure social impact.

Human Resource Management

  • Effective recruitment strategies.
  • Establishing sound staff policies and procedures.
  • Team building exercises for fostering collaboration.
  • Techniques for motivating staff and enhancing achievement.
  • Interpersonal communication and group behavior skills.
  • Conflict management and cooperation strategies.

Community Process Facilitation

  • Skills for facilitating community engagement processes.

Thematic Programs

  • Climate and Ecology: solar energy for irrigation, community seed systems, natural farming, promoting millets, nano orchards, participatory irrigation management, water restoration, and sanitation.
  • Livestock and Fisheries: sustainable practices in raising small ruminants (goats/pigs), table birds (poultry/ducks), and fish.
